Our Story
Find out a little bit more about lead tutor Jenny Kamakala and how KKH began.
My name is Jenny and I am the founder and lead tutor at Kamakala Kids House. I have tutored children for nearly a decade now and feel really proud to have helped many students lift their academic confidence and attainment from 4+ entry to A Level examinations.
I went through a rigorous academic process myself, attaining the maximum points in my International Baccalaureate
exams and going on to study at Cambridge University and SOAS, London. I understand how to get the best results from children while allowing them to enjoy the process of learning. I feel strongly that children learn best when they feel comfortable and able to contribute in lesson time, with lessons adopted to the student's learning style & personality.
I set up KKH at the start of the Covid pandemic to help meet growing demand for excellent educators to guide children, as home schooling became the norm and increasing pressure was put on classroom learning. We have grown into a small team of tutors who work collaboratively to deliver engaging lessons for all our students.
Our tutors have been chosen to teach at KKH based not only on their academic excellence but for their ability to forge a meaningful tutor-student relationship, bringing a warmth and energy to lessons which inspires children in their subject area. While we focus on Maths & English skills, many of our tutors also offer specialist subjects such as languages, drama skills and yoga. We hope to offer a school away from school and change the convention of a tuition agency, where often the focus on the all-important tutor-student relationship is lost.

I believe that tuition should be a process where parents feel involved in their child's learning as much as possible. As lead tutor, I am always available for a chat regarding your child's progress and we hope that you feel comfortable coming to us with any questions regarding how we can best help your child. We value the connection we are able to build with so many families and have experienced the tutor-student relationship as unique in offering children a trusted mentor outside of both school and their family who is focused solely on their academic growth and wellbeing.
Our priority is to provide a structured approach to learning that results in improved academic attainment for your children while providing them with a safe and creative space to flourish in their one to one lesson time.
